ORLOCK - both 7"s
I don't know much about Orlock.
Here's what I do know: they were a short-lived female-fronted screamy hardcore band from Richmond, VA in the late 90's; one member was in Hose.Got.Cable, and their drummer went on to be the first human drummer in Song Of Zarathustra. Those facts alone are all I needed to know to spark my interest in these two EP's, long forgotten and cursed to the 7" bargain bins. Hell, neither of the 7"s even come with inserts!
The internet doesn't reveal too much about this band, either: A couple Youtube videos of a second line-up from 2005 featuring 2/4ths of the original members. An early pre-7" recording from the band played over a vampire movie shot by one of the band members when they were 9 years old. An abandoned Myspace page of the record label that released the second 7". A bio page for 2/4ths of the band (same 2/4ths mentioned earlier in the 2005 lineup) who are now married with children and recording music under the name The Wades (there's a little bit about Orlock breaking up on tour on this page).
A friend recommended these to me because the drummer was the first drummer in one of my all-time favorite bands, Song Of Zarathustra, when they were based out of Sioux City, IA still, and a while later I came across them in a bargain bin at a record store. I wish I had more to tell you about the band and these releases, but instead I can only tell you do check out their jams below. Screamy hardcore with some noise intros/outros.
